Explanatory Memorandum to Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003

Other Changes to the  Order

A number of additional changes were included to address issues identified by the Department during consultation in discussions with Health and Social Services Boards,

Regional Inspection teams and the Department’s professional and policy advisers. These were:

  • Changes to Schedule 1 to add provisions giving powers to the Department to take action, should HSSRIA fail to fulfil its functions and to arrange for the transfer of staff, assets and liabilities from HSS Boards to HSSRIA; and

  • Miscellaneous changes to other provisions contained in articles 45 to 47.
