The European Economic Interest Grouping (Fees) Regulations 1999

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations prescribe the fees payable in connection with services and facilities provided by the Department of Trade and Industry in pursuance of the Community obligations of the United Kingdom under Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2137/85 of 25th July 1985 on the European Economic Interest Grouping, implemented in part by the European Economic Interest Grouping Regulations 1989.

The Regulations revoke the European Economic Interest Grouping (Fees) Regulations 1989 and prescribe the fees specified in the Schedule to the Regulations in place of the fees specified in the Schedule to the revoked Regulations.

The new fees are as follows:

(a) the fee for the registration of an EEIG whose official address is in Great Britain is £20 (Fee No. 1);

(b) the fee for inspection of a basic set of microfiche copies is increased from £3 to £5 (Fee No. 2);

(c) a new fee of £5 is introduced for a basic set of microfiche copies delivered at an office of the registrar of companies (Fee No. 3);

(d) a new fee of £8 is introduced for a basic set of microfiche copies delivered by post (Fee No. 3);

(e) a new fee of 10p per page is introduced for paper copies of records, if requested at an office of the registrar of companies at the same time as a request to inspect or to receive a basic set of microfiche copies (Fee No. 4);

(f) a new fee of £5 plus £1 per document is introduced for paper copies of records requested at an office of the registrar of companies in any other manner than that described in sub-paragraph (e) above (Fee No. 4);

(g) the fee for paper copies of microfiche records delivered by post is increased from £5.50 to £9, and for further documents relating to the same EEIG, requested on the same occasion, a new fee of £2.50 is introduced (Fee No. 5);

(h) a new fee of 10p per screen of information on a computer terminal is introduced in respect of paper copies of particulars delivered at an office of the registrar of companies (Fee No. 6);

(i) the fee for paper copies of particulars delivered by post is reduced from £5.50 to £4 per copy of information in relation to an EEIG available on a computer terminal (Fee No. 6);

(j) a new fee of £25 is introduced for a certified copy of, or extract from, any record (Fee No. 7); and

(k) a new fee of £10 is introduced for the registration of a charge (Fee No. 8).

Regulation 1 provides for the new fees to come into force on 1st March 1999.
