The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 146(4)(b) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014(1), make the following Order.
1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Social Services Codes (Appointed Day) (Wales) Order 2016.
(2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.
2. The day appointed for the coming into force of the codes specified in the Schedule is 6 April 2016.

This Order appoints 6 April 2016 as the day on which codes issued by the Welsh Ministers under section 145(1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (“the 2014 Act”) come into force.
The Order applies to the codes listed in the Schedule to the Order.
The codes impose requirements and include guidelines setting out aims, objectives and other matters in relation to the exercise of social services functions under the 2014 Act. Section 145(3) of the 2014 Act requires local authorities to act in accordance with any relevant requirements contained in a code issued under section 145(1) and to have regard to any relevant guidelines contained in it.
