Mae'r Rheoliadau hyn yn diwygio Rheoliadau Addysg (Gwybodaeth am Ddisgyblion Unigol) (Cymru) 2003, sy'n ei gwneud yn ofynnol i gyrff llywodraethu ysgolion a gynhelir ddarparu gwybodaeth ragnodedig am y disgyblion sydd yn yr ysgol i'r awdurdod addysg lleol sy'n cynnal yr ysgol, a hynny ar gais ysgrifenedig yr awdurdod.
Mae rheoliad 2 yn diwygio Rheoliadau 2003 drwy:
ei gwneud yn ofynnol i gorff llywodraethu ysgol a gynhelir ddarparu gwybodaeth am ddisgyblion unigol i'r awdurdod addysg lleol sy'n ei chynnal, a hynny ar ffurf y gall peiriant ei phrosesu; ac
ymestyn rhychwant yr wybodaeth y caiff awdurdodau addysg lleol ofyn amdani am ddisgyblion y chweched dosbarth.
