THE SCHEDULE TO THE SCHEME
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE NEW RIVER WEAR HIGH LEVEL FOOTBRIDGE
The location and general design of the footbridge are shown on the plan numbered SCC-NWF-ATK-SBR-XX-DR-S-000001, Revision P01, titled “New Wear Footbridge Haunched Steel Box Girder General Arrangement”.
POINTS OF COMMENCEMENT AND TERMINATION
From a point on the South Bank of the River Wear 10 metres north-east of “The Beam” building.
To a point on the North Bank of the River Wear 10 metres south of the southern gable wall of the North East Railway Stable Building.
SPAN
The overall span of the Footbridge between the centre line of the bearings on the north and south abutments will be 250 metres, using a 3 span arrangement of 72 metres (North Bank), 125 metres (across the River Wear) and 53 metres (South Bank).
HEADWAY
Not less than 25 metres above the mean high water spring tide level (MHWS) of 2.5 metres above ordnance datum.
WATERWAY
A minimum clear navigable waterway of 30 metres.
OVERALL DIMENSIONS
The footbridge will be 10 metres wide overall and will carry shared surface pedestrian footway and cycleway with a useable deck space of approximately 8.4 metres.
