1. This Order may be cited as the British Museum (Authorised Repositories) Order 2021 and comes into force on 1st June 2021.
2. In Part 1 of Schedule 3 to the British Museum Act 1963 (sites of authorised repositories – British Museum)(3)—
(a)omit paragraph 3; and
(b)at the end insert—
“9. The site in Shinfield lying to the east of Cutbush Lane East, known as the British Museum Archaeological Research Collection, Cutbush Lane East, Shinfield, Reading, RG2 9AA.”.

This Order creates a new authorised repository for the collections of the British Museum, by adding a further site to those already listed in Part 1 of Schedule 3 to the British Museum Act 1963, namely the site known as the British Museum Archaeological Research Collection in Shinfield, Reading. It also removes from Part 1 of Schedule 3 the site of an authorised repository (namely 6 Burlington Gardens, in London) which is no longer used by the Museum.
