The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred in article 219 of the Air Navigation Order 2016(1) and with concurrence of the Commissioners of Revenue and Customs, makes the following Order.
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Customs and Excise Airports) Order 2021 and comes into force on 1st January 2022.
(2) This Order extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

2. The Civil Aviation (Customs and Excise Airports) Order 2001(2) and the Civil Aviation (Customs and Excise Airports) Order 2009(3) are revoked.

3. The following aerodromes are designated as places for the landing or departure of aircraft for the purposes of the enactments for the time being in force relating to customs and excise—

This Order revokes the Civil Aviation (Customs and Excise Airports) Order 2001 (the “2001 Order”) and the Civil Aviation (Customs and Excise Airports) Order 2009 (S.I. 2009/1605) and replaces them with a new Order which designates certain airports to be places for the landing or departure of aircraft for the purposes of the enactments for the time being in force relating to customs and excise. This Order adds three additional airports for these purposes. These airports are Doncaster (Sheffield) Airport, George Best (Belfast City) Airport and Inverness Airport. The 2001 Order is not available online, however, a copy of it can be obtained by contacting the Department for Transport, Great Minster House, 33 Horseferry Road, London, SW1P 4DR. A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument, as no, or no significant impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
