CHAPTER 1 Amendment of Commission Regulation on aircrew

Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 (aircrew)

53.  Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 of 3 November 2011 laying down technical requirements and administrative procedures related to civil aviation aircrew pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council is amended in accordance with regulations 54 to 58.

Amendment of Article 4b of Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011

54.  In Article 4b (upset prevention and recovery training), in paragraph 2, in the last sentence, for “competent authority” substitute “CAA”.

Amendment of Article 10a of Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011

55.  In Article 10a(1) (pilot training organisations), in paragraph 1—

(a) in the first place it occurs, for “competent authority” substitute “CAA”;

(b) for “a Member State” substitute “the United Kingdom”;

(c) omit the words from “inside the” to “under the Chicago Convention”;

(d) in the second and third place it occurs, for “competent authority” substitute “CAA”.

Amendment of Article 12 of Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011

56.  In Article 12 (entry into force and application)—

(a) in paragraph 4—

(i) in the first place it occurs, for “Member States” substitute “the CAA”;

(ii) in the second place it occurs, for “Member States” substitute “The CAA”;

(b) omit paragraph 7.

Amendment of Annex 1 to Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011

57.—(1) Annex 1 (Part-FCL) is amended as follows.

(2) In Subpart A (general requirements)—

(a) omit point FCL.015(e);

(b) in point FCL.055(b), in both places the words occur, for “a competent authority” substitute “the CAA”;

(c) in point FCL.055(e), for “any competent authority” substitute “the CAA”.

(3) In Subpart H (class and type ratings), in point FCL.725(d), for “competent authority” substitute “CAA”.

(4) In Subpart J (instructors), in point FCL.900(b)(1)—

(a) for “competent authority” substitute “CAA”;

(b) for “Member States” substitute “United Kingdom”.

(5) In Appendix 9, in point A.17(c), omit “applicants’”.

Amendment of Annex 6 to Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011

58.—(1) Annex 6 (Part-ARA) is amended as follows.

(2) In Subpart GEN (general requirements), omit point ARA.GEN.360.

(3) In Subpart ATO (specific requirements related to approved training organisations), in point ARA.ATO.110, for “competent authority” substitute “CAA”.
