Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) Regulations 2016.
(2) Subject to paragraph (3), these Regulations come into force on 1st September 2016.
(3) Regulation 2(3) comes into force on 1st January 2018.
2.—(1) The table at paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 (declaration of conformity) to the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010(3) is amended as follows.
(2) After item 24 insert—
| “25 | A professional refrigerated storage cabinet, blast cabinet, condensing unit or process chiller | Commission Regulation (EU) No 2015/1095 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for professional refrigerated storage cabinets, blast cabinets, condensing units and process chillers(4)” |
(3) After item 25 (as inserted by paragraph (2)) insert—
| “26 | A local space heater | Commission Regulation (EU) No 2015/1188 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for local space heaters(5)” |
3.—(1) The table at Schedule 1 (EU measures) to the Energy Information Regulations 2011(6) is amended as follows.
(2) After the entry relating to residential ventilation units insert—
| “Professional refrigerated storage cabinets | Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2015/1094 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the energy labelling of professional refrigerated storage cabinets(7) | 1st September 2016 except for the second indent of Article 3(2) of the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2015/1094 which applies from 1st July 2019 |
| Solid fuel boilers and packages of a solid fuel boiler, supplementary heaters, temperature controls and solar devices | Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2015/1187 supplementing Directive 2010/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to energy labelling of solid fuel boilers and packages of a solid fuel boiler, supplementary heaters, temperature controls and solar devices(8) | The dates set out in Articles 3 and 8 of the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 2015/1187 |

These Regulations amend the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010 (S.I. 2010/2617) (“the 2010 Regulations”) and the Energy Information Regulations 2011 (S.I. 2011/1524) (“the 2011 Regulations”) and partially implement Commission Regulations (EU) Nos 2015/1095 and 2015/1188, and Commission Delegated Regulations (EU) Nos 2015/1094, 2015/1187 and 2015/1186 as follows—
(a)regulation 2 adds two new entries to the table in paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 (declaration of conformity) to the 2010 Regulations—
(i)from 1st September 2016, for professional refrigerated storage cabinets, blast cabinets, condensing units and process chillers;
(ii)from 1st January 2018, for local space heaters; and
(b)regulation 3 adds three new entries to the table in Schedule 1 (EU measures) to the 2011 Regulations to apply from the dates referred to in regulation 3 for—
(i)professional refrigerated storage cabinets;
(ii)solid fuel boilers and packages of a solid fuel boiler, supplementary heaters, temperature controls and solar devices;
(iii)local space heaters.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
