The Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2013

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 8B(5) of the Immigration Act 1971(1).

1.  This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2013 and shall come into force on 17^th July 2013.

2.  In Part 1 of the Schedule to the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000(2) after “Resolution 1985 (2011) of 10 June 2011 (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea).” insert “Resolution 2094 (2013) of 7 March 2013 (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea).”.

3.—(1) Part 2 of the Schedule to the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000 is amended as follows.

(2) After “Council Implementing Decision 2013/73/CFSP of 31 January 2013 (Afghanistan)” insert “and as implemented by Council Implementing Decision 2013/145/CFSP of 21 March 2013 (Afghanistan)(3) and as implemented by Council Implementing Decision 2013/219/CFSP of 16 May 2013 (Afghanistan)(4)”.

(3) After “Council Decision 2012/642/CFSP of 15 October 2012 (Belarus)” insert “as implemented by Council Implementing Decision 2013/248/CFSP of 29 May 2013 (Belarus)(5) and as amended by Council Decision 2013/308/CFSP of 24 June 2013 (Belarus)(6)”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Schedule to the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000.

It amends Part 1 of that Schedule to list Resolution 2094 (2013) of 7 March 2013 (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea). It amends Part 2 of that Schedule to list: Council Implementing Decision 2013/145/CFSP of 21 March 2013 (Afghanistan) and Council Implementing Decision 2013/219/CFSP of 16 May 2013 (Afghanistan); Council Implementing Decision 2013/248/CFSP of 29 May 2013 (Belarus) and Council Decision 2013/308/CFSP of 24 June 2013 (Belarus); Council Decision 2013/134/CFSP of 18 March 2013 (Bosnia and Herzegovina); Council Decision 2013/184/CFSP of 22 April 2013 (Burma/Myanmar) (which replaced Council Decision 2010/232/CFSP of 26 April 2010 (Burma/Myanmar) and all subsequent amending Council Decisions); Council Decision 2013/270/CFSP of 6 June 2013 (Iran); Council Decision 2013/183/CFSP of 22 April 2013 (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) (which replaced Council Decision 2010/800/CFSP of 22 December 2010 (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) and both subsequent amending Council Decisions); Council Decision 2013/182/CFSP of 22 April 2013 (Libya); Council Implementing Decision 2013/185/CFSP of 22 April 2013 (Syria) and Council Decision 2013/255/CFSP of 31 May 2013 (Syria); and Council Decision 2013/160/CFSP of 27 March 2013 (Zimbabwe).

Any person named by or under an instrument listed in the Schedule (as amended) or falling within a description specified in such an instrument will be excluded from the United Kingdom (subject to the exceptions specified in article 3 of the Immigration (Designation of Travel Bans) Order 2000).

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sector is foreseen.
