These Regulations amend the Appointments Commission Regulations 2006.
Regulation 2 inserts a new regulation 8A which makes provision for the Secretary of State to direct that the appointment of a vice-chairman ceases to have effect. It also makes provision for the Secretary of State to be able to appoint another non-executive member to be vice-chairman.
The amendments made by these Regulations apply in relation to a vice-chairman appointed at any time, including a time before the coming into force of the power in paragraph 6(2) of Schedule 4 to the Health Act 2006 under which these Regulations are made(1).
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
