2. The Board(1) may pay out of the Pension Protection Fund any sum required to meet expenditure by the Board on—
(a)creating and maintaining records of persons entitled to compensation under section 162 of the Pensions Act 2004(2) or Article 146(2) of the Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 2005(3) (the pension compensation provisions);
(b)maintaining a payroll for the payment of such compensation;
(c)verifying data required for the creation and maintenance of those records and that payroll.
The Board of the Pension Protection Fund is established under section 107 of the Pensions Act 2004.
