2. In article 4 of the General Dental Council (Constitution) Order of Council 2006(1) (tenure of office of members of the Council), for paragraph (2) substitute the following paragraph—
“(2) The term of office of a member—
(a)whose term of office—
(i)prior to the coming into force of the General Dental Council (Constitution) (Amendment) Order of Council 2007(2), would have expired at the end of 9th April 2008, and
(ii)thereafter but prior to the coming into force of this paragraph, would have expired at the end of 9th April 2009; or
(b)appointed on or after 9th April 2008 whose term of office, prior to the coming into force of this paragraph, would have expired at the end of 9th April 2009,
shall expire at the end of 9th October 2009.”
