The Relevant Authorities (Standards Committee) Regulations 2001(1)

S.I. 2001/2812

In regulation 1(2) omit the words “relevant authorities in England, other than parish councils, and to”.

In regulation 2, omit the words “or 55(7)(a)” from the definition of “independent member” and omit the entry relating to “responsible authority”.

For regulation 3 substitute—

3.  An authority must ensure that, where its standards committee has more than three members, at least 25% of them are independent members..

In regulation 7(1) for “paragraphs (2) to (4)” substitute “paragraphs (2) and (4)”.

Omit regulation 7(3).

In regulation 7(4) omit “60(2) or (3), 64(2)” in both places.

The Local Authorities (Code of Conduct) (Local Determination) Regulations 2003

S.I. 2003/1483

In regulation 1(2) omit the words “relevant authorities in England and to”.

In regulation 2(1)—

in the entry relating to “Adjudication Panel”, omit the words “in respect of a relevant authority in England, the Adjudication Panel for England established under section 75(1) of the Act and, in respect of a police authority in Wales,”;

in the entry relating to “authority” omit the words “a relevant authority in England and”;

omit the entries relating to “ethical standards officer” and “ethical standards officer concerned”;

omit the entry relating to “the parish councils concerned”; and

Omit regulation 2(2).

Omit regulation 4.

In regulations 5, 6, 8, 9 and 13, for the references to ethical standards officer (in whatever terms), substitute references to the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales.

In regulations 5(1), 6(1)(a)(i), 6(2)(b)(i) and 6(2)(c)(i) omit “64(2) or”.

In regulation 5(2) omit “60(2) or (3) or”.

Regulation 7(1) was amended, and regulation 7(4) was inserted by regulation 3 of the Local Authorities (Code of Conduct) (Local Determination) Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/1483); and regulation 7 was further amended by regulation 2 of the Relevant Authorities (Standards Committee) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/87).
