The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) and (4) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and by section 5(1) of, and paragraphs 1 and 29(1) of Schedule 2 to, the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, considering it appropriate in the interests of the health service to make this Order(3), and having completed the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the National Health Service and Community Care Act(4), hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Trusts (Dissolutions) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st April 2003.
2.—(1) Each of the National Health Service Trusts established by the National Health Service Trust Establishment Orders listed in paragraph (2) is dissolved and accordingly their Establishment Orders are revoked.
(2) The National Health Service Trust Establishment Orders referred to in paragraph (1) are—
(a)The Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) and the Mid Sussex National Health Service Trust (Dissolution) Order 2002(5);
(b)The New Possibilities National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993 (6) (the whole Order); and
(c)The Wolverhampton Health Care National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1994 (7) (the whole Order).

This Order dissolves on 1st April 2003 the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals National Health Service Trust, the New Possibilities National Health Services Trust and the Wolverhampton Health Care National Health Service Trust and revokes their respective Establishment Orders.
The trust formerly called the Brighton Health Care National Health Service Trust is, with effect from 1st April 2003, to be called the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals National Health Service Trust. The change of name is effected by the Brighton Health Care National Health Service Trust (change of name) Order 2003.
1977 c. 49; section 126(3) was amended by section 65(2) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 (c. 19) (“the 1990 Act”), by paragraph 57 of Schedule 1 to the Health Authorities Act 1995 (c. 17) (the 1995 Act) and by paragraph 27 of Schedule 2 to the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997 (c. 46).
