(This note is not part of the Order)
The County of Cambridgeshire was divided into five coroners' districts by the Cambridgeshire (Coroners' Districts) Order 1974. Two of these, Cambridge City and Southern were amalgamated to form the Cambridge City and Southern Coroners' District by the Cambridgeshire (Coroners' Districts) (Amendment) Order 1991. A third, Peterborough, ceased to be part of Cambridgeshire by the Cambridgeshire (City of Peterborough) (Structural, Boundary and Electoral Changes) Order 1996 and the Peterborough (Coroners) Order 1998, when the unitary authority of Peterborough was established.
This Order replaces the three districts of Cambridge City and Southern, Northern and Huntingdonshire by two new districts as set out in the Schedule above.
