PART II
The Education (Pupil Referral Units) (Application of Enactments) Regulations 1994(1) shall be amended with effect from 1st September 1997 as follows:
(a)In Part I of Schedule 1 to those Regulations, for paragraph 3A there shall be substituted the following paragraph—
“School Inspections Act 1996 (c. 57)
3A. Section 10 of the School Inspections Act 1996 applies in relation to units as if they were schools mentioned in subsection (3) of that section.”;
(b)In Part II of Schedule 1 to those Regulations, for paragraph 8 there shall be substituted the following paragraph—
“8. Parts I and II of the Education (School Inspection) Regulations 1997 apply in relation to a unit with the modification that in regulation 4 for sub-sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii) of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) there is substituted the following—
“on or after 1st September 1996 but before 1st August 2000;”.”.
