This Order provides for the periods of summer time in the years 1995, 1996 and 1997 during which the time for general purposes in the United Kingdom will be one hour in advance of Greenwich mean time. It implements the EC Seventh Summer Time Directive 94/21/EC (OJ No. L164, 30.6.94, p.1), which establishes the start and end dates and times of the periods of summer time for those years in the Member States of the European Community.
The Order applies also to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, but not to the Bailiwick of Jersey or the Isle of Man which have their own legislation on the subject.
This Order also revokes certain previous Orders establishing the periods of summer time for earlier years, which are now spent.
