Section 21 makes provision about when the provisions of this Act will come into force.
The powers and the final provisions in the Act will come into force on the day of Royal Assent. Section 11(1), (2) and (3) will come into force at the end of the period of 3 months beginning with the day of Royal Assent. Section 8 (where not already in force) will come into force at the end of the period of 6 months beginning with the day of Royal Assent. The remainder of the Act will come into force on a day appointed by regulations made by the Secretary of State.
