Section 6: Parking badges for disabled service personnel etc overseas

24.This section establishes the Secretary of State as a badge issuing authority for members of the armed forces and persons employed in support of those forces – together with members of the same household of such persons – resident overseas in places to be prescribed. The section makes consequential amendments to section 21 so that specific references to a local authority are to be read as including the Secretary of State as if he were a local authority in England. The section also makes consequential amendments so that references to “the area of the issuing authority” are to be read as references to the prescribed places overseas.
