Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000

Background

81.The Government's intention to legislate on rights of way was announced on 8 March 1999 in The Government's Framework for Action: Access to the Countryside in England & Wales. The Government's consultation paper on rights of way, Improving Rights of Way in England and Wales(9), was published in July 1999. The responses are summarised in a report: Improving Rights of Way in England and Wales: Analysis of Responses(10).
