This is the original version (as it was originally enacted).
There shall be paid out of money provided by Parliament any expenditure incurred by the Secretary of State under this Act and any increase attributable to this Act in the sums so payable under any other Act.
The enactments mentioned in Schedule 3 to this Act are hereby repealed to the extent specified in the third column of that Schedule.
(1)Subject to subsection (2), this Act shall come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which it is passed.
(2)The following provisions of this Act—
(a)sections 17 and 18, and Schedules 1 and 2, and
(b)sections 21 to 24, and the repeals of section 21 and in section 27 of the [1982 c. 23.] Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982,
shall come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may appoint by order made by statutory instrument, and different days may be appointed for different purposes.
(3)An order under subsection (2) may make such transitional provision and savings as appear to the Secretary of State to be necessary or expedient.
(1)This Act may be cited as the Petroleum Act 1987.
(2)Sections 25, 26 and 27 of this Act do not extend to Northern Ireland, but otherwise this Act extends there.
