This is the original version (as it was originally enacted).
Section 201 of the [1955 c. 18.] Army Act 1955 (under which the Defence Council may not authorise an officer to impose reductions in rank on warrant officers or non-commissioned officers unless he is of or above the rank of brigadier, flag officer, or air commodore) shall be amended by substituting, for the words, " brigadier, flag officer or air commodore ", the words " colonel, of captain in the Royal Navy or of group captain " ; and section 201 of the [1955 c. 19.] Air Force Act 1955 (which is to the like effect) shall be amended by substituting, for the words " air commodore, flag officer or brigadier, " the words " group captain, of captain in the Royal Navy or of colonel ".
