Abolition of the Health and Safety Commission and Executive

2.  The Health and Safety Commission and the Health and Safety Executive, as established under section 10 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974(1), are abolished.

Sections 16(1), 18(5), 43(3) and 50(1) are amended by the Employment Protection Act 1975 (c.71), sections 116 and 125, Schedule 5, paragraphs 3 to 5, 7 and 8; Schedule 15, paragraphs 12 and 16, and Schedule 18. Sections 27(2) and (3) and 55(1) are amended by the Employment Act 1989 (c.38) section 29, Schedule 6, paragraphs 10 and 11, and Schedule 7, Part 1. Section 28(3)(a) and (4) is amended by the Environment Act 1995 (c.25) section 120 and Schedule 22, paragraph 30. Section 28(5) is amended by S.I.2005/3363, article 5. Sections 16(2) and 50(3) are amended by the Health Protection Agency Act 2004 (c.17), section 11(1) and Schedule 3, paragraph 5. Sections 14(1), 16(1) and 18(5) are amended by the Railways Act 2005 (c.14), section 2, Schedule 3, paragraphs 3, 4, 9 and 10 and Schedule 13, Part 1.
