The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 1(4) of the Pilotage Act 1987(1) and all other powers enabling Ministers to do so.
1. This Order may be cited as the Ardersier Port Limited (Pilotage Powers) Order 2024 and comes into force on 20 January 2025.
2. Ardersier Port Limited(2) is a competent harbour authority(3) for the purposes of the Pilotage Act 1987.

This Order provides that Ardersier Port Limited is a competent harbour authority for the purposes of the Pilotage Act 1987.
The applicant for the Order is Ardersier Port Limited having their registered office at Level 4, Dashwood House, 69 Old Broad Street, London EC2M 1QS.
1987 c. 21 (“the 1987 Act”). Section 1 was amended by the Marine Navigation Act 2013 (c. 23), section 1 and the Transport and Works (Scotland) Act 2007 (asp 8), section 29(2) and schedule 3. The functions of the Secretary of State were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46).
A company incorporated under the Companies Acts (see the Companies Act 2006 (c. 46), section 2) under company number 03700403. Ardersier Port Limited is the harbour authority for the harbour of Ardersier by virtue of S.S.I. 2017/195. S.S.I. 2014/224 describes the limits of that harbour.
Section 1 of the 1987 Act makes provision as to the meaning of “competent harbour authority” for the purposes of that Act.
