1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 2 and Savings Provision) Regulations 2017 and come into force on 31st May 2017.
(2) In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016.
2.—(1) 31st May 2017 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of table 1 in the schedule (the subject matter of which is described in column 2 of table 1 in the schedule).
(2) Where a purpose is specified in column 3 of table 1 in the schedule in relation to any provision specified in column 1 of table 1 in the schedule, that provision comes into force on 31st May 2017 for that purpose.
3.—(1) 1st October 2017 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of table 2 in the schedule (the subject matter of which is described in column 2 of table 2 in the schedule).
(2) Where a purpose is specified in column 3 of table 2 in the schedule in relation to any provision specified in column 1 of table 2 in the schedule, that provision comes into force on 1st October 2017 for that purpose.
4. 1st April 2018 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the Act so far as not then in force.
5. Where a person is in receipt of support under section 3(4) of the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013(1), sections 87(1) and (1A) of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968(2) are to be read as if the reference to section 3(4) of the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 in each of those sub-sections has not been substituted for the reference to section 24(4) of the Act.
