The Lords of Council and Session, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 40 of the Sheriff Courts (Scotland) Act 1907(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, do hereby enact and declare:
1.—(1) This Act of Sederunt may be cited as the Act of Sederunt (Fees of Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) (Amendment) 2000 and shall come into force on 1st June 2000.
(2) This Act of Sederunt shall be inserted in the Books of Sederunt.
2.—(1) The table of fees set out in Schedule 2 to the Act of Sederunt (Fees of Witnesses and Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) 1992(2) is amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph 1 (attendance), for the amounts of £26.99 and £107.95 there are substituted the amounts of £27.83 and £111.30 respectively.
(3) In paragraph 4 (transcription), for the amounts of £4.42 and £5.40 there are substituted the amounts of £4.56 and £5.57 respectively.
(4) In paragraph 5 (copies), for the amount of £0.37 there is substituted the amount of £0.38.
3. Paragraph 2 does not affect such fees as are chargeable for work done before 1st June 2000.

This Act of Sederunt increases the fees payable to shorthand writers in the Sheriff Court by about 3.1%. The last increases were in the Act of Sederunt (Fees of Shorthand Writers in the Sheriff Court) (Amendment) 1999 (S.I. 1999/613).
