The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 7(2), 12(2) and 14(2) of, and paragraph 3 of Schedule 1, paragraph 3 of Schedule 2 and paragraphs 3 and 5 of Schedule 3 to the Health and Social Care (Reform) Act (Northern Ireland) 2009(1).
1.—(1) These regulations may be cited as the Health and Social Care Bodies (Membership) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014 and shall come into operation on 6th January 2015.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Regional Health and Social Care Board (Membership) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009(2); the Regional Agency for Public Health and Social Well-being (Membership) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009(3); and the Regional Business Services Organisation (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 2009(4).
2. For regulation 4(1) in the principal regulations (Disqualification for appointment) substitute the following—
“4.—(1) Subject to regulation 5, a Chair or a person appointed under regulation 2(1) shall be disqualified for appointment if that person –”

These regulations amend the principal regulations to provide that the Chairs of the Regional Health and Social Care Board, the Regional Agency for Public Health and Social Well-being and the Regional Business Services Organisation are disqualified for appointment on the same basis as other members appointed by the Department to these bodies.
