Section 18 - improvement assessments

36.Section 18 places a duty on the Auditor General for Wales to carry out a forward-looking assessment of how far a Welsh improvement authority is likely to meet the requirements of Part 1 of the Measure in that year. Under this section the Auditor General for Wales will be able to carry out an assessment covering more than one year if s/he wishes. In undertaking the assessment, the Auditor General would be expected to take into account relevant information and documents received from other regulators and inspectors under s33.
