1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Overhead Lines (Exemption) (England and Wales) Regulations 2009.
(2) Subject to the transitional provisions in regulation 6, the Overhead Lines (Exemption) Regulations 1990(1) are revoked except in so far as they extend to Scotland(2).
(3) These Regulations shall come into force on 6th April 2009.

Functions under section 37, and the relevant functions under section 60, of the Electricity Act 1989, were transferred, in so far as they are exercisable in or as regards Scotland, to the Scottish Ministers, by the Scotland Act 1998 (Transfer of Functions to the Scottish Ministers etc.) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/1750), article 2 and Schedule 1.
