4.—(1) The Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970(1) is amended as follows.
(2) In section 1 (supply of goods and services by local authorities), in subsection (4)(2), in the definition of “public body”, after “the Housing Act 1988” insert “, any probation trust”.
In section 1(4), the definition of “public body” was amended by the Local Government Act 1972 (c.22), Schedule 30, the Housing Act 1988 (c.50), section 89(2), the Police and Magistrates’ Courts Act 1994 (c.29), Schedule 4, paragraph 5, the Police Act 1996 (c. 16), Schedule 7, paragraph 1(2)(g), the Police Act 1997 (c.50), Schedule 9, paragraph 23, the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001 (c.16), Schedule 6, paragraph 58 and Schedule 7, Part 5(1), and the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003 (asp 1), section 8(1) and (2)(d)(i).
