Transitional and saving provisions
9. Section 28(1) of the 1953 Act (retention of postal packets after delivery of part thereof to Post Office) shall apply to a postal packet which was within the exclusive privilege of the Post Office before 26th March 2001 and was on board a ship or aircraft inward bound before 26th March 2001 and the second and third references in section 28 to the Post Office shall include a reference to the successor postal services company.

Section 28 of the 1953 Act was amended by the provisions of the 1969, 1977 and 1982 Acts referred to in the footnote to section 27.
