Amendment of Schedule 9 etc
4.—(1) In paragraph 82 in Part I of Schedule 9 to the 1985 Act (general interpretation)(1), the definitions of “Banking activities” and “Banking transactions” are hereby repealed.
(2) In consequence of paragraph (1) above, in the index of defined expressions set out in section 262A of the 1985 Act(2), the entries relating to the expressions “banking activities” and “banking transactions” are hereby repealed.

New Parts I to III of Schedule 9 were inserted by regulation 5(4) of, and Schedule 1 to, the Companies Act 1985 (Bank Accounts) Regulations 1991.

Section 262A was inserted into the 1985 Act by section 22 of the Companies Act 1989, and was amended by paragraph 3 of Schedule 2 to the Companies Act 1985 (Bank Accounts) Regulations 1991 and by paragraph 5 of Schedule 2 to the Companies Act 1985 (Insurance Companies Accounts) Regulations 1993 (S.I. 1993/3246).
