(1)Dynodir categori iaith i bob ysgol, yn unol â’r Rhan hon, sy’n penderfynu—
(a)yn unol ag adran 10, yr isafswm o addysg Gymraeg a ddarperir yn yr ysgol, a
(b)nod dysgu Cymraeg yr ysgol (gweler adran 11).
(2)Y categorïau iaith yw—
(a)y categori “Prif Iaith - Cymraeg”;
(b)y categori “Dwy Iaith”;
(c)y categori “Prif Iaith - Saesneg, rhannol Gymraeg”.
(3)Caniateir dynodi mwy nag un categori iaith ar gyfer ysgol a chaiff Gweinidogion Cymru, drwy reoliadau, wneud darpariaeth mewn perthynas ag ysgol o’r fath, gan gynnwys darpariaeth sy’n cymhwyso’r Rhan hon gydag addasiadau.
(4)Nid yw is-adran (1) yn gymwys i ysgol arbennig gymunedol (ond gweler adran 20).
