Chapter. IV. An Act for continuing an Act intituled An Act that the solemn Affirmation and Declaration of the People called Quakers shall be accepted instead of an Oath in the usual Form. [Rot. Parl. 13 & 14 Gul.III.n.4.]

Whereas an Act made in the Seventh and Eighth Years of His present Majesties [X2Reign] intituled An Act that the solemn Affirmation and Declaration of the People called Quakers shall be accepted instead of an Oath in the usual Form was made to continue for Seven Years and from thence to the End of the next Sessions of Parliament and the same will expire at the End of the next Sessions of Parliament after the Two and twentieth Day of November next Now for the further avoiding the Inconveniencies in the said Act mentioned to those People and their Families Be it enacted by the Kings most Excellent Majesty by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal and Commons in this present Parliament assembled and by the Authority of the same That the said recited Act with all the Clauses and Powers therein contained shall continue and be in force for and during the Term of Eleven Years after the Determination of the said Act and from thence to the End of the next [X3Sessions] of Parliament.
