Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Plant Protection Products (Amendment No 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008 and shall come into operation on 12th January 2009.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
Amendment of the Plant Protection Products Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005
2.—(1) The Plant Protection Products Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005(2) shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) In regulation 2(1) (interpretation), for the definition of “the Directive” substitute—
““the Directive” means Council Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, as amended from time to time;”
(3) Schedule 1 (instruments amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC) is revoked.
Revocation
3. The Plant Protection Products (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008(3) are revoked.
