Plant Protection Products (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999 No. 282

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Plant Protection Products (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999, and shall come into operation on 28th July 1999.

(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Amendment of the Plant Protection Products Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995

2.  Regulation 2(1) of the Plant Protection Products Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995(2) shall be amended by substituting for the definition of “the Directive” the following definition—

• ““the Directive” means Council Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market(3), as amended by—

  (a)

  Commission Directive 93/71/EEC(4);

  (b)

  Commission Directive 94/37/EC(5);

  (c)

  Commission Directive 94/79/EC(6);

  (d)

  Commission Directive 95/35/EC(7);

  (e)

  Commission Directive 95/36/EC(8);

  (f)

  Commission Directive 96/12/EC(9);

  (g)

  Commission Directive 96/46/EC(10);

  (h)

  Commission Directive 96/68/EC(11);

  (i)

  Council Directive 97/57/EC(12);

  (j)

  Commission Directive 97/73/EC(13);

  (k)

  Commission Directive 98/47/EC(14);

  (l)

  Commission Directive 1999/1/EC(15);”.

Revocation

3.  The Plant Protection Products (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996(16) and the Plant Protection Products (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999(17) are hereby revoked.
