The Representation of the People (England and Wales)(Amendment) Regulations 2002

The Secretary of State, having consulted the Electoral Commission in accordance with section 7(1) and (2)(e) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 20001 about these Regulations; in exercise of the powers conferred on him by—

1. a

   sections 532 and 201(1) and (3)3 of, rule 244 of Schedule 1 and paragraphs 10 to 135 of Schedule 2 to, the Representation of the People Act 19836; and

2. b

   having regard to the definition of “prescribed” in section 202(1) of that Act, sections 10(4), 10A(1), 13A(1) and (2) and 13B(3) of that Act7;

hereby makes the following Regulations, a draft of which has been laid before and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:
