The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 34(1), 50(3) of, and paragraph 9 of Schedule 1 to, the Agriculture (Wales) Act 2023 (“the Act”)(1).
There has been open and transparent public consultation during the preparation of these Regulations in accordance with Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down the general principles and requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and laying down procedures in matters of food safety(2).
In accordance with section 50(6) of the Act, a draft of these Regulations has been laid before and approved by a resolution of Senedd Cymru.
