Each responsible body must designate a person to be responsible for maintaining a strategic oversight of its operation of the candour procedure.

Where the responsible body is a Local Health Board, an NHS Trust or a Special Health Authority, that person must be one of its non-officer members or non-executive directors, as appropriate.
