The Climate Change (Net Welsh Emissions Account Credit Limit) (Wales) Regulations 2021

In accordance with section 48(3) of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016(1) (“the Act”), a draft of this instrument was laid before and approved by a resolution of Senedd Cymru(2).

Before the draft was laid the Welsh Ministers obtained and took into account the advice of the Committee on Climate Change(3), in accordance with section 49(1) of the Act.

Accordingly, the Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 33(4) of the Act, make the following Regulations.

The reference in section 48(3) of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 to the National Assembly for Wales now has effect as a reference to Senedd Cymru, by virtue of section 150A(2) of the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32).

The Committee on Climate Change is the relevant advisory body to the Welsh Ministers by virtue of section 44(3) of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016.
