<Para><Text>“the Revised Parts 4 and 5 Code” (“<Emphasis>Cod Diwygiedig Rhannau 4 a 5</Emphasis>”) means the Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, a draft of which was laid before the National Assembly for Wales on 2 February 2018 for issue by the Welsh Ministers on 28 March 2018;</Text>

<P><Text Hanging="indented">This Order appoints 2 April 2018 as the day on which the revised Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 6 (looked after and accommodated children) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 comes into force.</Text></P>
<P><Text Hanging="indented">It also appoints 9 April 2018 as the day on which the revised Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 comes into force.</Text></P>
<P><Text Hanging="indented">These Codes are issued by the Welsh Ministers under section 145(1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (“the 2014 Act”) .</Text></P>
<P><Text Hanging="indented">Section 145(3) of the 2014 Act requires local authorities to act in accordance with any relevant requirements contained in a code issued under section 145(1) and to have regard to any relevant guidelines contained in it.</Text></P>
