The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 146(4)(b) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014(1), make the following Order:
1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Revised Codes of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Parts 4 and 5 and Part 6 of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (Appointed Day) (Wales) Order 2018.
(2) This Order applies in relation to Wales.
(3) In this Order—
“the Revised Parts 4 and 5 Code” (“Cod Diwygiedig Rhannau 4 a 5”) means the Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, a draft of which was laid before the National Assembly for Wales on 2 February 2018 for issue by the Welsh Ministers on 28 March 2018;
“the Revised Part 6 Code” (“Cod Diwygiedig Rhan 6”) means the Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 6 (looked after and accommodated children) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, a draft of which was laid before the National Assembly for Wales on 2 February 2018 for issue by the Welsh Ministers on 28 March 2018.
2.—(1) The day appointed for the coming into force of the Revised Part 6 Code is 2 April 2018.
(2) The day appointed for the coming into force of the Revised Parts 4 and 5 Code is 9 April 2018.

This Order appoints 2 April 2018 as the day on which the revised Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 6 (looked after and accommodated children) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 comes into force.
It also appoints 9 April 2018 as the day on which the revised Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 comes into force.
These Codes are issued by the Welsh Ministers under section 145(1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (“the 2014 Act”) .
Section 145(3) of the 2014 Act requires local authorities to act in accordance with any relevant requirements contained in a code issued under section 145(1) and to have regard to any relevant guidelines contained in it.
