<Text>In this Order, “the Revised Code” (“<Emphasis>y Cod Diwygiedig</Emphasis>”) means the Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014), a draft of which was laid before the National Assembly for Wales on 28 February 2017 and was issued by the Welsh Ministers on 9 April 2017.</Text>

<P><Text Hanging="indented">This Order appoints 10 April 2017 as the day on which the revised Code of Practice on the exercise of social services functions in relation to Part 4 (direct payments and choice of accommodation) and Part 5 (charging and financial assessment) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 comes into force. This Code was issued by the Welsh Ministers under section 145(1) of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 (“the <Abbreviation Expansion="Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 anaw 4">2014 Act</Abbreviation>”) on 9 April 2017.</Text></P>
<P><Text Hanging="indented">Section 145(3) of the 2014 Act requires local authorities to act in accordance with any relevant requirements contained in a code issued under section 145(1) and to have regard to any relevant guidelines contained in it.</Text></P>
<P><Text Hanging="indented">The revised Code includes changes brought about by the Care and Support (Choice of Accommodation, Charging and Financial Assessment) (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Wales) Regulations 2017 (<Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2017/214" id="c00001" Class="WelshStatutoryInstrument" Year="2017" Number="0214" AlternativeNumber="W. 58">S.I. 2017/214 (W. 58)</Citation>).</Text></P>
