Additional functions3.
(1)
The Council is to have the functions of—
(a)
accrediting courses or programmes of initial school teacher training (“the Service”);
(b)
monitoring compliance of accredited courses or programmes of initial teacher training with the accreditation criteria;
(c)
withdrawing accreditation of courses or programmes of initial school teacher training; and
(d)
charging fees in connection with providing the Service.
(2)
The fees charged by the Council pursuant to paragraph (1)(d) may not exceed the cost of providing the Service.

In exercising the functions in paragraph (1) the Council is to have regard to any forecast of demand for newly qualified teachers that is notified to it in writing by the Welsh Ministers.
