The Environment (Wales) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2017

The Welsh Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 88(3)(c) of the Environment (Wales) Act 20161.

Title and interpretation1.

(1)

 The title of this Order is the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2017.

(2)

In this Order “the Act” (“y Ddeddf”) means the Environment (Wales) Act 2016.

Provisions coming into force on 24 February 20172.

The appointed day for the following provisions of the Act coming into force is 24 February 2017—

(a)

section 77 (fees for monitoring, variation etc. of marine licences) to the extent necessary for the purpose of making regulations;

(b)

section 78 (further provision about payment of fees) to the extent necessary for the purpose of making regulations; and

(c)

section 79 (appeal against variation etc. of marine licence for non-payment of fee or deposit) to the extent necessary for the purpose of making regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order is the first commencement order made by the Welsh Ministers under the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 (“the Act”).

This Order brings the following provisions of the Act into force on 24 February 2017—

(a)

section 77 (fees for monitoring, variation etc. of marine licences) to the extent necessary for the purpose of making regulations;

(b)

section 78 (further provision about payment of fees) to the extent necessary for the purpose of making regulations; and

(c)
