The Children and Families Act 2014 (Commencement) (Wales) Order 2015

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 139(2)(b) of the Children and Families Act 20141 make the following Order:

Title, interpretation and application1

The title of this Order is the Children and Families Act 2014 (Commencement) (Wales) Order 2015.

In this Order, “the 2014 Act” (“Deddf 2014”) means the Children and Families Act 2014.

This Order applies in relation to Wales.

Commencement2

Section 1 of the 2014 Act is to come into force on 19 October 2015.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Commencement Order is made by the Welsh Ministers under the Children and Families Act 2014 (“the 2014 Act”).

This Order brings into force on 19 October 2015 section 1 of the 2014 Act.

Section 1 of the 2014 Act inserts subsection (1A) into section 98 of the Adoption and Children Act 2002 (pre-commencement adoptions: information) enabling the Welsh Ministers to make regulations for the purpose of facilitating contact between persons with a prescribed relationship to a person adopted before 30 December 2005 and that person’s relatives.
