The Qualifications Wales Act 2015 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2015

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the power conferred by section 60(2) and (3) of the Qualifications Wales Act 2015(1), make the following Order:
Title and interpretation
1. The title of this Order is the Qualifications Wales Act 2015 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2015.
Provisions coming into force on 6 August 2015
2. The following provisions of the Qualifications Wales Act 2015 come into force on 6 August 2015—
(a)section 2(1) (establishment of Qualifications Wales);
(b)section 2(2) so far as it relates to Part 1 and paragraph 37 of Schedule 1;
(c)Part 1 of Schedule 1 (establishment of Qualifications Wales); and
(d)paragraph 37 (in Part 2) of Schedule 1 (consequential amendment to the Freedom of Information Act 2000(2)).

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 6 August 2015 the provisions of the Qualifications Wales Act 2015 (“the Act”) listed in article 2 as provided for in that article.
Section 2(1) of the Act establishes Qualifications Wales as a body corporate and section 2(2) introduces Schedule 1. Part 1 of Schedule 1 makes further provision related to the establishment of Qualifications Wales, including on its membership. Paragraph 37 of Schedule 1 amends the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to add Qualifications Wales to the list of public bodies and offices in Part 6 of Schedule 1 to that Act.
