This Order, which applies in relation to Wales and the Welsh inshore region, brings into force certain provisions of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 (“the 2009 Act”).

Article 2 brings into force Chapter 1 of Part 5 of the 2009 Act so far as relating to marine conservation zones in Wales (sections 116 to 128 and 134 to 147) and Chapter 2 of that Part relating to other conservation sites (section 148). Article 2 brings into force the associated Schedules to Part 5 of the 2009 Act including consequential amendments, transitional provisions and repeals.

Article 3 makes a revocation of subordinate legislation consequential to the commencement of Part 5 of the 2009 Act.
