commencement, application and interpretation</heading><num>1.</num><paragraph eId="regulation-1-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>The title of these Regulations is the National Health Service (Optical Charges and Payments) (Amendment) (Wales) (No.2) Regulations 2014.</p></content></paragraph><paragraph eId="regulation-1-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>These Regulations come into force on 19 August 2014 but the amendments set out in regulation 2 have effect from 1 April 2014.</p></content></paragraph><paragraph eId="regulation-1-3"><num>(3)</num><content><p>These Regulations apply in relation to Wales.</p></content></paragraph><paragraph eId="regulation-1-4"><num>(4)</num><intro><p>In these Regulations—</p></intro><hcontainer name="definition"><content><p>“the Optical Regulations” (“<i>y Rheoliadau Optegol</i>”) means the National Health Service (Optical Charges and Payments) Regulations 1997<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00002" marker="2"><p><ref eId="c00002" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/1997/818">S.I. 1997/818</ref> as amended.</p></authorialNote>.</p></content></hcontainer></paragraph></hcontainer><hcontainer name="regulation" eId="regulation-2"><heading>Amendment of regulation 1 of the Optical Regulations</heading><num>2.</num><intro><p>In regulation 1(2) of the Optical Regulations (citation, commencement and interpretation), in the definition of “NHS sight test fee”—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="regulation-2-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>for “£57.72”, substitute “£58.29”; and</p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="regulation-2-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>for “£20.90”, substitute “£21.10”.</p></content></level></hcontainer><hcontainer Regulations)</subheading><blockContainer ukl:Name="P"><p>These Regulations amend the National Health Service (Optical Charges and Payments) Regulations 1997 (“the Optical Regulations”).</p></blockContainer><blockContainer ukl:Name="P"><p>Regulation 2 amends regulation 1 of the Optical Regulations so as to make reference to a 1% increase in the NHS sight test fees.</p></blockContainer><blockContainer ukl:Name="P"><p>The Welsh Ministers’ Code of Practice on the carrying out of Regulatory Impact Assessments was considered in relation to these Regulations. As a result, it was not considered necessary to carry out a regulatory impact assessment as to the likely costs and benefits of complying with these Regulations.</p></blockContainer></blockContainer></conclusions></act></akomaNtoso>
